The Book of Finger Plays & Action Songs (First Steps in Music series) Review
This book is part of a wonderful series of books that are great for music teachers, or really anyone who works with young children. It contains a great collection of fingerplays and songs sorted by subject. I appreciated the fact that there was music included with the songs in case you have not heard them before. I would say the best audience for this book is ages 2-6, with a few songs that might be enjoyable for older children. In conclusion, a great addition to any collection.
The Book of Finger Plays & Action Songs (First Steps in Music series) Overview
From those ever-turning wheels on the bus to the little teapot, short and stout, and even those naughty little monkeys still jumping on the bed, these action songs will engage children's attention and imagination. In this collection, movement and music are combined in some of the best-loved songs of childhood. The classic songs and rhymes provide a basis for understanding the musical concepts of form and expression. Kids will have fun singing the music and acting out the accompanying motions.
