I brought this book home from the library for my daughter, who is almost 3, and we probably read it 7 times the first day it was at our house. (I immediately ordered our own copy)

This is a very lovely, simple story about a white rabbit who dips herself in tubs of paint. The rabbit is adorable and has a very innocent/inquisitive look about her. The tale includes a wonderful lesson on mixing paint colors. It is written simply so a preschooler can understand.

Simple, yet charming - bookjunkie -
White Rabbit's Color Book is a simple, yet charming presentation of the color wheel. A curious white rabbit finds three tubs of paint; red, yellow and blue. "Sunshine yellow, she thought. Lovely. A quick dip and . . . " the book continues. After yellow, orange, and red, my children were able to predict what was going to happen next. The end was a surprise to them, and they were eager to attempt making the color white rabbit found to be "just right."

I recommend it in my latest parenting book, "Kindergarten Simplified," for several reasons. It is an easy way to cover learning the primary colors (and more) prior to kindergarten screening, it introduces the concept of how we can manipulate our environment (scientific), and the story in general will encourage the joy of reading.
