I have to agree with the other people who posted about the pictures in the book. If they were in color, this book would be a masterpiece. But as it is, the black and white really takes away from the art. You cannot ask a child to look at a black and white picture and then try to recreate the work. It has good information on the artists and the methods used, but other than that I would NOT recommend this book to anyone.

I continually use this book and the ideas within it. I can make a lesson fit my preschool class or my art class of fifteen year olds. The ideas are fresh, fun and engaging.

No books in the educational genre used to be in color, though in the past two years or so more and more are printing overseas and bringing color to what used to be only black and white. As the publisher, I hope to do that with this book at some point. But really, the book is just for the adults to have as a guide for setting up art activities. It's not a resource for kids to look at so much. It's better for them to look in an art book or look online at images. In fact, my website has full color click-to images for each artist in the book so that will help you quite a bit if you are interested, and if your kids are interested too:
